As a family run business, Golden Castle Leisure was formed in the Spring of 1977 by Richard Dee and his father-in-law Bert Miles. In the first few years they traded from a small site in Stratford Bridge near Tewkesbury offering a good selection of new makes and quality used models.
It wasn't long before the company gained a reputation for fair trading and good customer care and in 1983, when an 8 acre site,formerly operated by Ken Stephens Caravans, became available on Cheltenham Road East near Staverton Airport, they decided to expand.
The move was to prove an outstanding success and Golden Castle Leisure soon established itself as the regions leading Caravan dealer with an excellent reputation for customer care. Now with an ever increasing selection of new and used tourers on offer, sales increased rapidly and Golden Castle Leisure evolved to become the premier Caravan and Leisure company for Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Having established Golden Castle Leisure as the region's leading Caravan retailer, Richard Dee retired in 2009 after 33 years at the top and passed on the reins to his son, Craig Dee, who is now the new major shareholder and Managing Director. Having worked at Golden Castle since leaving school, Craig is naturally dedicated to maintain the high standards of service the company is renowned for and to lead the Golden Castle Leisure Group into a bright and prosperous future.
