Swift Classic Doublette – 2016 Caravan
The Classic Doublette is a dealer-special edition built by Swift on the lightweight Sprite Major 4 SB bodyshell, heavily upgraded with premium features and furnishings that standard Sprites simply do not get. This pre-owned 2016 example comes with a Powrtouch Evolution motor mover fitted, confirmed at the wheel in our photographs, on top of the Doublette's already generous specification.
The rear transverse island bed is the standout feature: a day-mode mechanism slides the bed back to widen the walkway to the washroom, then pulls out to full length at night onto a premium Duvalay Duvalite memory foam mattress. At the very rear, a full-width luxury washroom keeps the toilet and shower well clear of the bedroom walkway, with a full-sized separate shower cubicle and a backlit vanity mirror. Up front, three large opening windows plus a panoramic sunroof and Heki roof light flood the lounge with natural light.
It is built using Swift's SMART Plus construction – a completely timberless body frame using PURe polyurethane in place of wood, wrapped in impact-resistant GRP panels, with Grade 3 thermal insulation for genuine winter touring. The numbers come straight off the weight plate on the caravan: a Mass in Running Order of 1284kg and an MTPLM of 1440kg, giving 156kg of payload. At this weight it tows comfortably behind a wide range of family cars on a standard UK license. You can compare it against the rest of our used caravans, and research this caravan's history on the CRiS website using the VIN below.

What Owners Love About The Classic Doublette
- A motor mover already fitted – the Powrtouch Evolution takes care of pitching from the handset, no pushing required.
- The day-mode island bed – slides back for a wide walkway by day, pulls out to full length for sleeping at night.
- A full-width end washroom – full-sized separate shower, toilet and backlit vanity mirror, well away from the bedroom walkway.
- Flooded with natural light – three opening front windows, a panoramic sunroof and a Heki roof light make the lounge feel genuinely bright.
- Timberless SMART Plus construction – no wood in the body frame, which is a major reason these caravans hold their value.

INTERIOR HIGHLIGHTS
Bedroom: The transverse island bed sits at the rear with the day-mode sliding mechanism, dressed with a premium Duvalay Duvalite memory foam mattress that stays cool and comfortable.
Washroom: The full-width end washroom spans the entire back of the caravan, with a full-sized separate shower cubicle, toilet and backlit vanity mirror – a genuine private bathroom rather than a shared wet room.
Lounge: The front lounge sits beneath a panoramic sunroof and Heki roof light with three large opening windows, giving a bright, airy feel and a central chest of drawers between the parallel seating.
Kitchen: A well-equipped kitchen with a three-burner gas hob, a Thetford oven and grill, integrated microwave, a 3-way Thetford fridge-freezer, and an omni-directional ceiling extractor fan to clear cooking odours.
Technology: The Truma Combi dual-fuel heating and hot water system, running on gas, mains electricity or both together for rapid warm-up. Cream overhead kitchen lockers and wood-effect flooring with drop-in loose-fit carpets carry the Doublette’s upgraded styling throughout.

EXTERIOR & TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Doublette rides on an AL-KO galvanised chassis with an integrated Euro-overrun device and AL-KO AKS 3004 stabiliser hitch, confirmed fitted at the tow point in our photographs. The fitted Powrtouch Evolution motor mover takes the effort out of pitching and manoeuvring on site.
Special edition exterior extras include a Truma gas BBQ connection point and a Truma external 230V socket, both confirmed in our photographs, letting you cook and power appliances outside the awning without trailing leads through the door. The GRP front, rear and side panels resist impact damage from road debris and hail far better than traditional aluminium siding. This pre-owned example, finished in the exclusive “Ready Rouge” wine-red graphics, presents very well throughout.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What makes the Doublette different from a standard Sprite Major?
A: It is a dealer-special edition built on the same lightweight bodyshell, but with upgraded furnishings, a premium mattress, exclusive exterior graphics and additional utility extras like the BBQ point and external 230V socket not fitted to standard models.Q: How does the day-mode island bed work?
A: The bed mechanism slides back during the day to widen the walkway through to the washroom, then pulls out to its full length at night for sleeping.Q: Has the caravan been checked for damp?
A: Every used caravan we sell at Golden Castle is inspected before it goes on sale. This model’s SMART Plus construction replaces timber with polyurethane specifically to resist rot. Ask us to talk you through the inspection when you visit.Q: Does it have a motor mover?
A: Yes – a Powrtouch Evolution motor mover is fitted and confirmed at the wheel, so pitching is done from the handset rather than by hand.Q: Can I tow this on my driving license?
A: Yes. With an MTPLM of 1440kg (verified from the weight plate), this caravan is towable on a standard UK license with a suitable tow car. Since the rules changed in 2021, drivers who passed after 1997 can tow up to 3,500kg of combined trailer weight.Q: Will my car tow it?
A: Using the 85% rule of thumb, a car with a kerbweight of around 1,700kg or more is a comfortable match. Tell us what you drive and we will check it for you.Q: Do you take part exchange?
A: Contact us with the details of your current caravan and we will be happy to discuss a part exchange valuation.Q: Can I check the caravan’s history myself?
A: Absolutely. The CRiS number is SGDST2ESWG0905219 and you can verify it independently on the CRiS website – we encourage every buyer to do so.
