• Lounge: The front lounge is a bright and welcoming space, thanks to the large vertical front window which lets in plenty of daylight. The parallel sofas provide comfortable seating for relaxing and can be easily converted into a double bed for guests.
• Kitchen: You get a very practical and well-equipped kitchen with a Thetford oven and separate grill, a dual-fuel hob, a built-in microwave, and a good-sized Dometic fridge with freezer compartment.

• Heating System: It’s fitted with the reliable Truma Combi system, which provides powerful blown-air heating and hot water. You’ll find this gets the caravan up to temperature quickly and is very efficient.

• Motor Mover: A motor mover has been fitted to this caravan, which we always see as a huge plus. It allows you to manoeuvre the caravan with a remote control, taking all the stress out of positioning it on a pitch or driveway.

1. What’s the main benefit of the central washroom layout? In our experience, customers love this layout because it creates two distinct areas. You have your daytime living space at the front, and a private bedroom at the back, with the washroom acting as a brilliant divider. You can close the door to create a full en-suite, which is a feature everyone wants.

2. Is this caravan easy to tow? For a caravan with such a spacious and popular layout, the Phoenix Plus 640 is impressively lightweight. With a maximum weight (MTPLM) of 1411kg, it’s well within the capabilities of many family cars and SUVs. The fitted motor mover also makes it very easy to handle once you’re on site.

3. What is the Bailey Alu-Tech bodyshell? Alu-Tech is Bailey’s unique construction method. It uses a strong, interlocking aluminium framework, which reduces the number of external joints and fixing points. We find this makes the caravan more robust and better protected from the elements, which is a great feature for long-term peace of mind.

4. How does the retractable bed work? The island bed in the Phoenix Plus 640 has a clever mechanism that allows you to slide the mattress back towards the wall during the day. This creates a much wider walkway to get through the bedroom, and then at night, you simply slide it back out to its full length.

5. How many people can it sleep? This is a 4-berth caravan. It can comfortably sleep two adults in the rear island bed. The front lounge area, with its two long sofas, can then be converted into a large double bed to sleep another two people.
