Bailey Unicorn Valencia – 2019 Caravan

Just arrived at Golden Castle – full photographs to follow shortly, but the caravan itself is here and ready to view today. The Valencia's French bed layout is one of the most loved in touring, and Unicorns at this price point move quickly, so do not wait for the photo gallery: call us, pop in, and see it in person before it is even fully advertised.

The Unicorn is Bailey's premium touring range, and this Series 4 Valencia pairs a fixed French double bed with a full-width end washroom – the classic couples' layout that keeps the bed made up all holiday and puts a proper bathroom across the back of the caravan. This pre-owned example also comes with a Powrtouch motor mover fitted and solar charging on the roof.

It is built on Bailey's Alu-Tech construction system – an interlocking aluminium framework wrapped in GRP outer skin that keeps timber out of the bodyshell for excellent protection against damp. Heating comes from the Alde wet central heating system: silent, radiator-style warmth throughout the caravan with hot water on demand, which makes the Valencia a genuine all-season tourer.

On weights, the quoted figures for this model are a Mass in Running Order of 1344kg and an MTPLM of 1499kg, giving a 155kg payload – we will verify the exact figures from the weight plate before sale. At this weight it tows comfortably behind a wide range of family cars and SUVs on a standard UK license. You can compare it against the rest of our used caravans, but French bed Unicorns rarely sit for long. The bodyshell quality is testament to Bailey of Bristol's design philosophy, and you can research this caravan's history on the CRiS website using the VIN below.

  • What Owners Love About The Unicorn Valencia
    • A fixed double bed made up all holiday – the French bed tucks along the nearside wall, so there is no nightly converting and no losing the lounge.
    • Full-width end washroom – shower, toilet, basin and storage across the entire back of the caravan, directly behind the bedroom like a private suite.
    • Alde wet central heating – silent, even warmth like radiators at home, superb for early spring and late autumn touring.
    • Powrtouch motor mover fitted – pitch the caravan from the handset with no pushing.
    • Solar charging on the roof – keeps the leisure battery topped up on pitches without hook-up.
  • INTERIOR HIGHLIGHTS

Bedroom: The fixed French double sits along the nearside with the washroom wall at its foot – a proper permanent bed with storage beneath, reading lights and a window alongside. Together with the washroom behind it, the whole rear of the caravan becomes a private bedroom suite.

Washroom: The full-width end washroom spans the back with a separate shower, cassette toilet, basin and generous storage – genuinely one of the best washrooms in this class of caravan.

Lounge: Up front, the parallel lounge offers two full-length sofas, a central chest of drawers, overhead lockers and plenty of natural light. It converts to a second double bed, giving the Valencia its four-berth capacity for visiting family or friends.

Kitchen: The central kitchen comes equipped with a hob, oven and grill, sink, fridge and good overhead and drawer storage.

Technology: Alde programmable wet central heating and hot water, solar charging supporting the leisure battery, mains and USB points, and the caravan’s central control systems.

  • EXTERIOR & TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS

The Valencia tows on a single axle with a stabiliser hitch, at a weight that keeps it well-mannered behind an everyday family tow car. The fitted Powrtouch motor mover takes care of final positioning on the pitch or driveway at the push of a button.

The Alu-Tech bodyshell with GRP skin is one of the main reasons Unicorns of this generation hold their value – no timber in the body means far less to worry about when it comes to damp. Solar charging on the roof supports off-grid pitches, and there are external service points and access hatches for the water and waste systems. This pre-owned example has just arrived and is on our forecourt now – come and walk through it for yourself. Our full range of used caravans includes island beds, fixed singles and family layouts if you would like to compare while you are here.

  • WHAT SETS US APART

The Portofino tows on an AL-KO chassis with the ATC electronic anti-snake system, a stabiliser hitch and alloy wheels, and despite the 8ft width it remains a single axle – so it stays manageable on site and on the road. The fitted Powrtouch Evolution motor mover, confirmed at the wheel, makes final positioning effortless even at this size.

On the roof, the factory-fitted solar panel feeds the leisure battery for off-grid pitches. Along the side you will find a Whale external gas BBQ point for outdoor cooking, a Whale external mains socket, external water connection points and the Truma-equipped gas locker. Having only been used a couple of times, this pre-owned example is about as close to new as a used caravan gets. If you would like to compare layouts, our full range of used caravans includes fixed singles, bunk models and twin axles.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

Q: There are no photos yet – can I still view the caravan?
A: Yes, absolutely. The caravan is here on our forecourt and ready to view right now – the professional photographs simply have not been taken yet. Call ahead or just pop in, and you will see it before it is even fully advertised.

Q: Has the caravan been checked for damp?
A: Every used caravan we sell at Golden Castle is inspected before sale. Its Alu-Tech construction keeps timber out of the bodyshell specifically to resist damp. Ask us to talk you through the inspection when you visit.

Q: What is a French bed?
A: A fixed double bed that runs along the side wall of the caravan, with the washroom tucked behind it. You get a permanent made-up double without the extra length an island bed layout needs – which keeps the caravan lighter and easier to tow.

Q: Can I tow this on my driving license?
A: Yes. With an MTPLM of 1499kg it is towable on a standard UK license with a suitable tow car. Since the rules changed in 2021, drivers who passed after 1997 can tow up to 3,500kg of combined trailer weight.

Q: Will my car tow it?
A: Using the 85% rule of thumb, a car with a kerbweight of around 1,750kg or more is a comfortable match. Tell us what you drive and we will check it for you.

Q: What is the advantage of Alde heating over blown-air?
A: Alde is a wet central heating system, like radiators at home. It heats evenly and silently with no fan noise at night, and it also provides your hot water. It is one of the main reasons tourers who travel out of season look for the Unicorn range.

Q: Do you take part exchange?
A: Contact us with the details of your current caravan and we will be happy to discuss a part exchange valuation.

Q: Can I check the caravan’s history myself?
A: Absolutely. The CRiS number is SGBS01ABYKUN00868 and you can verify it independently on the CRiS website – we encourage every buyer to do so.
