The packing pads are designated SL5020 in the Camptech optional extras list for air awnings. Each pad is 120 mm square × 20 mm thick. They’re especially useful when an awning’s air beam or frame end cannot reach close enough to the caravan body or canopy channel due to interference (e.g. from roll-out awnings, fixed verandas, or similar obstacles), so the pad creates a fill-in to maintain a tighter connection. Using the pads helps prolong the life of the awning by reducing fabric strain, preventing water ingress or messing at the junctions, and improving overall performance in wet weather.

• Will these packing pads fit my air awning?
  Yes — they are suitable for most Camptech air awnings and other inflatable awnings where you need to “pack out” or fill the gap between air-tube ends and the caravan/motorhome body. Check your air beam end is not reaching flush; if there’s a gap, these pads help.

• How many do I need / where to use them?
  The 6-pack allows you to place pads at both front corners and both side ends (or more if needed), distributing pad usage around the frame to balance the roof tension and improve sealing.

• How do I fit them?
  Slide or wedge the pad between the air-beam end and the caravan body or canopy channel, adjusting until the air tube makes a tight but non-strained contact. Peg or strap the base edges as usual; avoid over-tension that could damage the tube or fabric.

• Will using them affect ventilation or airflow?
  Slightly — by improving the seal, you may reduce unwanted airflow or wind lift around the edges. But proper ventilation via awning windows or vents should still be maintained to avoid condensation.

• Is it good for wet weather performance?
  Yes — helps prevent water from getting in at the frame ends and improves roof slope/tension, encouraging proper water shedding.

• Will it damage my awning or caravan?
  No — when fitted correctly, they help reduce strain on awning fabrics at weak points. The material is soft/padding rather than rigid, so less risk of abrasion, scratching or structural damage.

• Are the pads durable?
  They are designed for outdoor use; the weather resistance is good. Over time, exposure to sun and moisture could cause wear, so periodic inspection and replacement may be necessary.

• What warranty covers the packing pads?
  They come with Camptech’s standard 12-month manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship.

• How heavy / bulky is the pack?
  Lightweight — foam or similar material; very modest in weight and compact when stored. Shouldn’t add significant bulk to your awning kit.

• Do I need these in all setups or only special cases?
  Only in cases where there is a noticeable gap between air-frame ends and your vehicle/panel/awning channel (e.g. roll-out awnings, fixed fixtures). If your setup already allows a flush or near-flush connection, these might be less necessary.
