The Duchess 340 is built for touring rather than static seasonal pitches. Its Climatech SR17 fabric is lighter than some heavy-season fabrics, making handling easier while still resisting rain and wind. The steel frame, though heavier, provides good rigidity. Standard accessories like wheel arch cover, draft skirt and curtains help to seal against drafts, shield from splash-back in wet weather, and offer privacy. With all panels zipped in, the awning forms a weather-tight front; when the weather’s good the front panels can be removed or opened up. Colour is Anthracite / Light Grey. Total weight is about 29 kg for the fabric/canopy part.

1. Will the Duchess 340 fit my caravan?
   Yes — if your caravan’s awning rail or side wall is between 235-255 cm high, this awning will fit properly. It’s 340 cm wide, so ensure your rail or kador length matches or slightly exceeds that width.

2. How easy is the setup?
   It uses a steel poled frame with Griplock clamps which means once set up, the poles are secure. Panels are zip in or out; veranda style options make it versatile. It isn’t as quick as inflatable awnings, but manageable with two people.

3. What’s the difference between wall & roof fabric?
   Both roof and wall are Climatech SR17 (touring coated polyester), offering good weather resistance for roof and walls.

4. Can I ventilate it properly?
   Yes — there is a half mesh window in one side panel, large windows for light, and with panels opened or veranda style you can get plenty of airflow. Curtains also help retain warmth when needed.

5. What’s the weather performance like?
   Good for touring: durable coating, solid steel frame, draft skirt, wheel arch cover help with rain splash. For stronger winds, use secure straps and close panels.

6. What is included standard?
   All items under “Included Features” above come as standard with the SL946 Duchess 340. The accessories list items that cost extra.

7. Can I add an annexe?
   Yes — using the Techline zips, you can add an annexe on either side of the Duchess for extra space. Tall or standard inner tents also possible.

8. How do I find the correct awning size for my caravan?
   Measure from ground to caravan’s awning rail or top side fitting (should be 235-255 cm). Measure the awning rail or the kador length to ensure width compatibility (340 cm in this case).

9. What is the warranty?
   This product comes with Camptech’s 12-month manufacturer’s warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship.

10. Is it suitable for seasonal pitches or long stays?
    Yes — while marketed as a touring awning, its fabric, steel frame, and accessory set make it robust enough for longer stays, provided you maintain it (keep tension, pack up in storms, support panels etc.).
