The Veranda Bar is listed under “Optional Extras for Inflatable Awnings” on the Camptech site. It is basically an inflatable bar / air tube that spans between the two front uprights of the awning; when fitted, the front panel can be partially dropped or zipped halfway to provide a veranda effect — shade, shade-plus-view, or airflow as needed. On the Starline 260 & 390 models, one veranda bar allows you to drop the front panel to half-height. It’s a light accessory in weight, minimal bulk, and uses your awning’s air pump. Use depends on size: e.g. Starline 260 requires two of the bars for optimum effect in some models.

Will this veranda bar fit my Starline / Starline Elite awning?
Yes — provided your awning is one of the Starline or Starline Elite widths that are compatible (e.g. 260, 300, 390). Check your awning model and ask if you need the specific SL517-series bar for your width.

How do I set it up?
Inflate the veranda bar using your existing awning pump, place it between the two front upright air-frame tubes, clip or fit any anchors provided, then zip or drop the front panel halfway to rest over the bar.

Does it affect how water runs off the front panel?
Potentially — since the front panel might hang at a lower angle when dropped, ensure the central veranda bar is tensioned correctly so that water flows off rather than pooling. Use canopy/protective drops if needed.

Can I leave it on all the time?
You can, but for heavy rain or strong wind it’s advisable to raise the panel back fully, remove or pack away the veranda bar if conditions demand or if it’s stressing zips or fabric.

How many bars do I need for my awning size?
Depends on the width: e.g. 260 / 390 sizes might need one veranda bar to achieve a half-drop, in some configurations more for full front support depending on panel width. Check product spec.

Does it help with airflow / reducing condensation?
Yes — by allowing the front to be half dropped, air can enter more freely, helping reduce condensation. Also gives shade without fully closing off.

What is included with the bar?
One inflatable veranda bar (air tube), valve fitting. Does not include poles, additional straps or front canopy unless stated.

Is the material durable / what about wear at zip & contact points?
Air tubes are soft-rubber or PU-coated material; frequent use can cause wear especially around zip edges or in contact with sharp points. Taking care when fitting (ensuring clean zip tracks, avoiding sharp edges) helps longevity.

What warranty covers this spare part?
As a Camptech accessory, it’s covered by the 12-month manufacturer’s warranty, subject to correct use and storage.

Will the veranda bar increase the bulk or weight much when packed?
Very little — single air tube is light and compact. It adds marginally to pack size, but compared to full frame poles or extra panels it’s minimal.
