Swift Challenger 650 Grande – 2026 Caravan
This brand new, unregistered 2026 Swift Challenger 650 Grande is a proper full-sized touring caravan — 8ft wide, twin-axle, and packed with kit straight from the factory. Built on Swift's latest SMART+ construction platform, the bodyshell uses GRP panels inside and out over a completely timber-free framework, giving you serious long-term protection against damp and delamination. It comes backed by a 10-year bodyshell warranty and a 3-year Supersure warranty that starts from your purchase date, not the build date.
At 1570 kg unladen and a maximum laden weight of 1730 kg, the twin-axle chassis provides stable, planted towing for anyone with a suitably sized tow car. You'll need something with a bit of presence — think Skoda Kodiaq, Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Ranger, or similar — and the appropriate towing entitlement on your licence. The AL-KO ATC electronic trailer control system is fitted as standard across the whole 2026 Challenger range, giving you automatic anti-sway correction if the caravan ever steps out of line at motorway speeds.
As a 2026 model available now, this caravan represents excellent value — it's brand new and factory-fresh with full warranty, but sits at a point where savings are on the table as the 2027 range arrives. Whether you're stepping up from a smaller tourer or browsing alongside our used caravans, the Challenger 650 Grande is hard to beat for space, specification, and build quality at this price point. You can explore the full Swift Caravans range and the Challenger's heritage on their website.

What Owners Love About The Challenger 650 Grande
- 8ft wide body — noticeably more room to move around than a standard-width caravan. The wider parallel lounge and bigger bed make-up are the first things you notice.
- Central washroom as a privacy divider — the washroom sits between the lounge and the rear bedroom, so you can close it off from either side. Guests in the front lounge, you in the back bedroom — everyone gets their own space.
- Truma CombiNeo heating — new for 2026, it delivers hot water in minutes rather than the usual long wait. Back-to-back showers for the whole family without running cold.
- Factory-fitted 120W solar panel — keeps the leisure battery topped up on site without needing a mains hook-up. Brilliant for rallies, CLs, and off-grid weekends.
- AL-KO ATC electronic stability — automatic anti-sway technology that kicks in if the caravan starts to snake. Confidence on every tow.

Interior Highlights
Interior Highlights
Bedroom The rear fixed island bed is a generous double, set across the full width of the 8ft body — so it’s wider than you’d get on a standard caravan. Wardrobes flank both sides, and there’s overhead locker storage plus a large under-bed compartment for suitcases and bulkier gear. The bed frame slides back during the day to open up the walkway. A dedicated TV point and reading lights make this a proper retreat at the end of the day.
Washroom Centrally positioned between the lounge and bedroom, the washroom runs the full width of the caravan and doubles as a privacy partition. It features a fully enclosed separate shower cubicle, a Thetford swivel-bowl cassette toilet, and a vanity basin with mirror. Shelving and a linen cupboard keep towels and toiletries neatly stowed. You can access it from either the lounge or the bedroom side — close the doors and it belongs to whichever zone needs it.
Lounge Up front, the parallel lounge benefits from the extra width of the Grande body — there’s noticeably more space between the facing sofas than on a standard-width model. A freestanding dining table sits centrally, and the benches pull together on slats to form a second generous double bed when needed. The Aquaclean Elephant upholstery in cool grey tones gives a clean, contemporary feel, and a large Dometic sunroof above floods the space with natural daylight. Atmospheric mood lighting sets the scene in the evenings.
Kitchen The mid-ship side kitchen is well equipped with a three-burner gas hob, a combination oven and grill, a microwave, and a three-way Dometic fridge-freezer. There’s a round sink with a flip-up worktop extension for extra prep room, plus solid cupboard and drawer storage above and below the work surfaces. A wireless phone charging pad is built into the worktop area — a handy touch you’d expect at this level.
Technology The Truma CombiNeo is the headline here — new for 2026, it heats water significantly faster than previous Combi units and delivers blown-air warmth through vents in every room, running on gas or 230V mains. The Truma touchscreen control panel gives you fingertip control of heating, water temperature, and system status. A Sargent AC-DC battery charger handles the electrical management, and a JVC DAB Bluetooth stereo is included for entertainment. FireAngel smoke and heat alarms are fitted throughout. The factory-fitted 120W solar panel on the roof feeds the leisure battery to keep things ticking over off-grid.

Exterior & Technical Highlights
The SMART+ construction takes Swift’s tried-and-tested timber-free bodyshell to the next level — GRP panels on the inside and outside of the walls, with a hail-resistant GRP roof. The full-height GRP rear panel with integrated LED rear light clusters adds protection against road spray and stone chips on the motorway.
The twin-axle AL-KO galvanised steel chassis provides a stable, confident tow, and the factory-fitted AL-KO AKS stabiliser hitch combined with AL-KO ATC electronic trailer control gives you two layers of anti-sway protection. The 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are a smart finishing touch.
Externally, there’s a 230V mains hook-up inlet, fresh water connection, external BBQ gas point, and a front gas locker with leisure battery compartment. The 120W roof-mounted solar panel is clearly visible and keeps the battery charged when you’re away from mains power.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this caravan brand new or used? This is a brand new, unregistered 2026 model. It has never been towed, slept in, or registered. Your full manufacturer warranty — 3 years Supersure plus 10 years on the bodyshell — starts from your purchase date, not the build date.
Why is a 2026 model available now — is something wrong with it? Not at all. This is completely normal in the caravan industry. New model years typically launch each September, so 2027 models are now arriving. A 2026 model still on the floor is brand new factory stock — it’s simply the outgoing model year, which often means a better deal for the buyer. There’s nothing wrong with it whatsoever.
Can I tow this on a standard UK licence? It depends on when you passed your test. If you passed before January 1997, your licence covers vehicles up to 8.25 tonnes combined — you’ll be fine. If you passed after that date, you may need to check your towing entitlement, as some newer licences have lower combined weight limits. The caravan’s MTPLM of 1730 kg plus your car’s kerbweight must fall within your licence allowance. We’re happy to check the numbers with you.
What car do I need to tow this? As a twin-axle at 1730 kg MTPLM, you’ll want a tow car with good weight behind it — typically a mid-to-large SUV or a pickup. Think Skoda Kodiaq, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Ford Ranger, or similar. Your car’s kerbweight should ideally match or exceed the caravan’s MTPLM. Bring your V5 along and we’ll work it out with you.
Does it come with a warranty? Yes — full manufacturer warranty. 3 years Supersure (covering manufacturing defects) and 10 years on the bodyshell against water ingress. Both start from your purchase date.
What does 160 kg payload actually mean? That’s the weight you can add on top of the caravan’s unladen weight before hitting the maximum limit. It covers everything you load in — water, gas, bedding, pots, food, clothes, awning. At 160 kg on a fully specified caravan like this, it’s worth being mindful of what you pack. Weigh the essentials if you’re unsure.
Do you accept part exchange? Absolutely. Bring your current caravan or motorhome along when you visit and we’ll give you a fair, no-obligation valuation on the spot.
