• What makes the Lantern Pro different from the standard Mini Alogfire? While both units utilize our patented cold-weather technology, the Lantern Pro (ALF-B9) is a dedicated high-performance heater producing 9400 BTU (2.75kW). In comparison, the Mini model produces 5200 BTU (1.5kW). The Lantern Pro is designed as a premium “glass fireplace” focal point for maximum warmth and ambiance, whereas the Mini is a versatile 3-in-1 tool for heating and light cooking.

• Will this heater work during a British frost? Yes. Standard butane heaters often struggle or fail when temperatures drop below 10°C due to gas pressure loss. The Lantern Pro features patented technology that allows it to maintain a consistent, roaring flame in ambient temperatures between 0°C and 10°C.

• Is the flame effect just for show or does it provide real heat? It provides both. The unit features a world-first design where a real gas flame dances from an internal log, mimicking a real wood-burning fire. This is enhanced by a glowing wire inside the log to create a realistic “fired” aesthetic while delivering a powerful 2.75kW heat output.

• What safety features are built-in for family use? The Lantern Pro is engineered with a triple-layer safety system: Hypoxia Protection (ODS) which shuts off the unit if oxygen levels are low; Flameout Protection which cuts the gas if the flame is blown out by wind; and Dumping Protection which provides an accidental tip-over safety shut-off.

• How easy is it to set up and ignite? It is designed for simplicity. It uses a magnetic locking system for the gas tank, making it easy to install a canister even with cold hands. Ignition is a quick push-and-turn system that requires no batteries.

• Which gas canisters should I buy? The unit is compatible with standard 220g nozzle-type butane canisters (Direct Pressure Butane). These canisters feature a notched collar for easy alignment and are designed to automatically reseal when disconnected.

• Can I use this inside my caravan or tent? No. This appliance is strictly for outdoor use. While it has an ODS sensor, it must never be used in fully enclosed spaces like a sealed home, caravan, or tent. It is ideal for open patios, gardens, or well-ventilated semi-enclosed spaces like an awning with vents open.

• How long will one gas canister last? A single 220g butane cartridge will provide between 1.5 to 3 hours of runtime. You can manage this duration using the stepless adjustment knob to choose your preferred flame and heat level.
