Coachman VIP 520 – 2019 Caravan
The VIP is Coachman's premium single-axle range, and the 520 is the layout for people who want a proper bathroom without a big twin axle. This pre-owned 2019 example comes genuinely well equipped: a Powrtouch Evolution motor mover and a solar panel are fitted on top of the VIP's already high factory specification, which includes Alde wet central heating throughout – all confirmed in our photographs.
The layout gives you a spacious front lounge, a central kitchen, a side dinette, and a full-width washroom across the back with a separate shower cubicle, cassette toilet, wardrobe and changing space – a genuinely residential arrangement in a caravan this manageable. Heating comes from the Alde wet central heating system: silent, radiator-style warmth with hot water on demand, making the VIP a true all-season tourer.
The numbers come straight off the weight plate on the caravan: a Mass in Running Order of 1388kg and an MTPLM of 1550kg, giving a generous 162kg of user payload. It tows on AL-KO running gear with the ATC anti-snake system, and at these weights it sits comfortably behind a good family SUV on a standard UK license. You can compare it against the rest of our used caravans, but VIPs with the mover and solar already fitted are exactly the caravans that sell first. You can read about the range on the Coachman website, and research this caravan's history on the CRiS website using the VIN below.

What Owners Love About The VIP 520
- A full-width washroom with a real changing area – separate shower cubicle, toilet, basin and wardrobe across the entire back of the caravan.
- Alde wet central heating – silent, even warmth like radiators at home, superb for touring right through the year.
- Powrtouch Evolution mover fitted – pitch the caravan from the handset with no pushing at all.
- Solar panel fitted – keeps the leisure battery topped up on pitches without hook-up.
- Coachman build quality – the VIP range’s fit and finish is a class above, and this example shows it.

Interior Highlights
Washroom: The full-width end washroom is the heart of this layout – a separate shower cubicle, cassette toilet, basin, wardrobe and proper space to get changed, all across the back of the caravan like a small bathroom at home.
Lounge: The front lounge offers deep, comfortable seating with the VIP’s premium soft furnishings and plenty of natural light, converting to a large double bed at night.
Dinette: The side dinette gives you a proper place to eat, work or play games, and converts to an additional berth when needed – flexibility the standard two-berth layouts cannot offer.
Kitchen: A well-appointed kitchen with a dual-fuel hob, separate oven and grill, a 3-way fridge, integrated microwave and an extendable worktop for extra preparation space.
Technology: Alde programmable wet central heating and hot water, the Coachman control panel by the door, 12v, satellite, TV and USB media points, mains sockets throughout, and the charge system supporting the roof solar panel.

EXTERIOR & TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS
The VIP 520 tows on AL-KO running gear with the ATC electronic anti-snake system and a stabiliser hitch, on a single axle with alloy wheels that keeps it easy to manage. The fitted Powrtouch Evolution motor mover – confirmed at the wheel – handles final positioning at the push of a button.
The solar panel on the roof feeds the leisure battery for off-grid pitches, and along the side you will find the Whale external gas BBQ point for outdoor cooking, external service points and the gas locker. This pre-owned 2019 example presents very well inside and out. If you would like to compare, our full range of used caravans includes island beds, fixed singles and family layouts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Has the caravan been checked for damp?
A: Every used caravan we sell at Golden Castle is inspected before it goes on sale. Ask us for the details on this VIP when you enquire or visit, and we will happily talk you through its condition.Q: Can I tow this on my driving license?
A: Yes. With an MTPLM of 1550kg (verified from the weight plate), this caravan can be towed on a standard UK license with a suitable tow car. Since the rules changed in 2021, drivers who passed after 1997 can tow up to 3,500kg of combined trailer weight.Q: Will my car tow it?
A: Using the 85% rule of thumb, a car with a kerbweight of around 1,820kg or more is a comfortable match – typically a mid-size SUV upwards. Tell us what you drive and we will check the match for you.Q: What is the advantage of Alde heating over blown-air?
A: Alde is a wet central heating system, like radiators at home. It heats evenly and silently with no fan noise at night, and it also provides your hot water. It is one of the main reasons buyers seek out the VIP range for out-of-season touring.Q: Does the solar panel mean I can camp without electric hook-up?
A: The fitted solar panel tops up the leisure battery whenever there is daylight, supporting lighting, the water pump and 12v equipment on non-electric pitches. For longer off-grid stays we can advise on battery capacity to suit how you tour.Q: What is the external BBQ point for?
A: It lets you plug a gas barbecue straight into the caravan’s gas supply – no separate bottles to carry, and dinner cooks outside while the caravan stays clean inside.Q: Do you take part exchange?
A: Contact us with the details of your current caravan and we will be happy to discuss a part exchange valuation.Q: Can I check the caravan’s history myself?
A: Absolutely. The CRiS number is SG4S000CMK1958484 and you can verify it independently on the CRiS website – we encourage every buyer to do so.
