Swift Elegance 845 Grande – 2023 Caravan
The 2023 Swift Elegance 845 Grande is about as roomy as touring caravans get. It sits on a full 8ft-wide twin axle platform, with a proper transverse island bed and a full-width end washroom. This one is a used example that's barely a couple of seasons old. Swift Caravans builds the Elegance with a GRP-skinned body, including a GRP roof that stands up well to hail and knocks. Add Alde wet central heating and you've got a caravan that's as comfortable in a chilly spring as it is in August.
Straight from the weight plate, the MRO is 1,850kg and the MTPLM is 2,051kg, which leaves a healthy 201kg payload for your kit. It's a big twin axle outfit, so you'll want a large, capable tow car with a towing limit comfortably above 2,051kg. The good news is it can be towed on a standard UK licence. Twin axles are known for settled, stable towing, and the AL-KO AKS 3004 stabiliser hitch helps keep it that way. If you're weighing up our used caravans, this is one to see in person.

What Owners Love About The Swift Elegance 845 Grande
- Proper bedroom: The transverse island bed means you’re not making up the lounge every night.
- Space everywhere: At 8ft wide, there’s more room to pass each other in the kitchen and more width in the lounge.
- All-season comfort: Alde wet heating gives even, quiet warmth for shoulder-season and winter touring.
- Off-grid friendly: A roof-mounted solar panel with a Truma MPPT controller keeps the leisure battery topped up when you’re away from a hook-up.
- Easy water and gas: Twin water inlets let you fill direct to the tank or feed the taps direct, and there’s a gas BBQ point outside.

Interior Highlights
Bedroom
The main bedroom has a transverse island bed across the width of the caravan. It’s easy to get in and out of either side, and it’s always made up ready. The front lounge also makes up into a second double, which is where the four berths come from.Washroom
Right at the back is a full-width end washroom with a separate shower cubicle, a basin and a Thetford cassette toilet. Having it at the rear keeps it private from the living space, which is a real plus with four on board.Lounge
Twin settees face each other across the front, with a large rooflight above to bring in plenty of daylight. There’s a built-in d-jo wireless phone charger with USB-A and USB-C ports, so there’s no hunting around for a plug.Kitchen
The central kitchen has an L-shaped worktop with an oven, grill, hob, microwave and a tall fridge-freezer. There’s plenty of room for cooking proper meals rather than just heating things up.Technology
Heating and hot water come from the Alde system, and everything is managed from the control panel by the door. A Sargent EC800 FM/DAB radio module with an aux input handles the music. For TV, there’s a wind-up aerial with a Vision Plus digital TV amplifier feeding several TV points. A Truma SDC12 MPPT solar charge controller manages power from the roof panel. Safety is covered by a FireAngel carbon monoxide alarm and a FireAngel smoke alarm. -
Exterior & Technical Highlights
The Elegance 845 Grande rides on a twin axle AL-KO chassis with smart alloy wheels. It’s fitted with the AL-KO AKS 3004 stabiliser hitch, and AL-KO ATC trailer control came as standard on this range to help correct snaking before it builds. On the roof you’ll find the solar panel, and there’s a leisure battery in its own external locker for easy checking. Outside, there’s a gas BBQ point and an external mains socket, and the twin water inlets let you fill direct to the tank or supply the taps direct. There’s also a front gas locker, external storage lockers, an awning light, a Thetford cassette hatch and rear bike rack rails. For anyone comparing used caravans, the combination of an 8ft body, Alde heating and solar is hard to beat at this age. You can also check its history on the CRiS website.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Has the caravan been damp checked?
Every caravan we sell is checked over before handover, and we’re happy to go through the readings with you. The Elegance’s GRP body and roof are a big help in keeping damp out.Has it been serviced?
The A-frame carries approved workshop service stickers for 2024 and 2025. Ask us and we’ll talk you through the service history we hold. Can I tow it on my driving licence?
Yes. At an MTPLM of 2,051kg, it can be towed on a standard UK licence. Will my car be able to tow it?
You’ll need a larger tow car with a towing limit comfortably above 2,051kg, and a kerbweight that gives a good, stable match. Check your car’s handbook or VIN plate for its limits. If you tell us your make and model, we’ll help you check it’s a sensible pairing. How much can I load into it?
The payload is 201kg. That’s the difference between the 1,850kg MRO and the 2,051kg MTPLM, and it covers clothes, food, awning and kit.Can I use it off-grid?
The roof-mounted solar panel and Truma MPPT controller help keep the leisure battery charged. That makes a few nights away from a hook-up far more manageable. Can I check the caravan’s history?
Yes. The CRiS number is SGDTT6GSWP0355001, and you can use it to check the caravan’s history on the CRiS website.Do you take part exchange?
Yes. Send us the details of your current caravan and we’ll give you a price.
