The SL5057 is built specifically for Camptech’s Carnival Windbreak system but works with any windbreak having poles of ~19 mm diameter. It helps firm up the lower end of each pole, which is often the weak point in windy or open sites. The plate keeps the pole vertical and reduces movement in gusts. Using extra footplates on outer poles increases stability. The item is lightweight enough to carry in your accessory bag and is sold as individual plate + pegs.

1. Will SL5057 fit my windbreak poles?
   Yes — it fits all Camptech Carnival Windbreak poles and any other poles about 19 mm in diameter.

2. How do I install the footplate?
   Insert the windbreak pole into the plate, drive the included steel pegs through the plate’s base holes into the ground. Tension pole upright. No tools needed beyond a mallet for pegs if ground is hard.

3. How many should I use per windbreak?
   One per pole gives good stability. For more exposed, windy or open pitches, putting footplates on outermost poles improves performance.

4. Do the pegs work on different ground types?
   Yes — the 225 mm steel pegs are long enough for soft or semi-firm ground. For very hard ground, you may need to pre-drill or use different pegging.

5. Does the footplate improve resistance in strong wind?
   It improves stability markedly under light-to-moderate wind. In severe gusts, still use caution and additional anchorage (guy ropes etc.).

6. What’s the weight and portability like?
   It’s built of heavy steel so heavier than plastic accessories, but still small and easy to pack. One unit plus two pegs is manageable in accessory carry-cases.

7. Is any hardware or spare parts replaceable?
   Pegs are standard steel stakes—replaceable. If footplate or welds wear or bend, Camptech or spares dealers might supply replacements.

8. Can this be used with other brands of windbreak?
   Yes — as long as those windbreaks use rigid poles ~19 mm diameter and you can insert the pole into the plate.

9. Does this come with a warranty?
   Yes — the SL5057 Carnical Windbreak Footplate has a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty.

10. Can I leave the footplates fixed when I’m not using the windbreak?
    Yes — they are solid and can remain for short periods, but if packing up or storing, it’s best to remove pegs and dry off to avoid rust or damage.
