Measure the caravan’s external body length along the floor line, excluding the drawbar, before choosing your size. The six covers have different lengths but share the same 229cm width and 41cm drop, so choosing the correct length is the key measurement.

Clean the caravan before fitting and protect or fold away sharp and fragile fittings such as aerials and guttering. Don’t over-tension the straps, and avoid using the cover in high winds or particularly exposed locations. This is a roof cover rather than a full caravan cover, making it a good choice when your main concern is protecting the area that collects the most tree sap, bird mess and general outdoor debris.

1. What sizes are available?
There are six options: MP9261 fits caravans up to 4.1m, MP9262 fits 4.1–5.0m, MP9263 fits 5.0–5.6m, MP9264 fits 5.6–6.2m, MP9265 fits 6.2–6.8m and MP9266 fits 6.8–7.4m.

2. How do I measure my caravan for the correct size?
Measure the external body length along the caravan’s floor line, excluding the drawbar. Match that measurement to the appropriate Maypole size range.

3. Does this cover the whole caravan?
No. This is specifically a caravan top cover, designed to protect the roof and upper section rather than enclosing the entire caravan.

4. What are the individual cover dimensions?
MP9261 measures 375 × 229 × 41cm, MP9262 466 × 229 × 41cm, MP9263 527 × 229 × 41cm, MP9264 591 × 229 × 41cm, MP9265 644 × 229 × 41cm and MP9266 705 × 229 × 41cm.

5. Is the Maypole Caravan Top Cover waterproof?
Maypole specifies 150D polyester with a PU silver coating, hydrostatic pressure tested to 1500mm for water resistance.

6. What does the cover help protect against?
It’s designed to protect the caravan roof against UV rays, rain, wind, smog, dust, snow, ice, birds, leaves, bird mess and tree sap.

7. Will the securing straps damage the caravan?
The adjustable buckles have non-abrasive padded protectors to help prevent scratching or damage when the cover is correctly fitted.

8. Can I use the cover in strong winds?
No. Maypole states that the cover is not suitable for high winds or exposed locations, and it shouldn’t be fitted in windy conditions.

9. Can I tow the caravan with the top cover fitted?
No. This is a storage cover and must be removed before towing the caravan.

10. Does it come with a storage bag?
Yes. A storage bag is included so the cover can be packed away when it isn’t required.
